Coming to consoles next week, this mysterious game has been out on steam since early last year. The actual premise of this game has been shrouded in mystery with cryptic trailers not giving us much information other than some kind of futuristic setting with robots bots and electricity. As soon as you start playing though it all falls into place.
Basically you start off playing as a spark and progress through each level along wires solving puzzles. The game doesn’t hold your hand and has you working out everything for yourself which is a nice change from games of past.
It can take a little while to get used to the controls as they can be unfamiliar and wonky, but in no time you’ll be zipping up and down those wires. You’ll encounter various puzzles along the way and the ability to jump from wire to wire. You’ll be able to control certain devices you come across on your travels some of these are puzzles and some are mechanism. Some of the puzzles you encounter are mathematical puzzles some will require you to seek out numbers and codes. Completing these will unlock doors new areas and new paths to help you proceed with the level.
As with getting started this game doesn’t help you with the puzzles so you have to work them out yourself which just makes it all the more fun. Apart from the puzzles, you will come across some mobs that will slow down your progress such as a laser-equipped dog-shaped robot. You may be asking how does a dog manage to be a threat when you’re just a spark in some cable, well eventually you can acquire new forms upgrade over time.
So in conclusion this is a fun little puzzle game with some sci-fi settings and a solid story! I liked the fact it doesn’t hold your hand and didn’t give too much away with the trailers. You can pick up the game on XBox One right now by following the link below.
